Trimming The Jewels

One nipple ring down, one to go.

Decided to take them out after a long and busy weekend where the left one got irritated early on and was a royal pain with every other man I hopped in bed with (I was a busy boy this holiday weekend). The right one came right out, no worries. I traded the left one for a ring so it's easier to clean. I think that may come out tomorrow and I'll just deal with the potential for an abscess. Sore, sore, sore today, all during work. Ugh.

Just decided they were more trouble than they were worth. Having to warn everyone to stay away, and then worrying about it getting banged around, was just a mood killer. So, rather than deal with that drama again, out they go. Which fits with other things I've been doing. I took my earrings out late last week, just cause I was tired of seeing them in (they're well enough healed that I can leave4 them out). Also stopped wearing most of my rings in the last week. The only non-attached jewelry I've had on has been my bracelet. Not even wearing a watch at the moment (why should I, the cell has a clock). I guess I'm getting tired of the adornment. At least for now. I'm sure some of it will come back as my mood shifts.

Speaking of moods, mine has been in a mess of late. I did speak with the friend of the family about the China job. Or, rather, I emailed him to check in only to discover he'd lost my resume and contact info (oy). So, sent that stuff back to him again this afternoon. I want to know what the position he's considering would entail, just to see if it would actually be doable or not. If it is, man, what an opportunity. If not, I still have a great job that's going well, if a tad boring at the moment. No harm, no foul.

But the idea of a China practice is really exciting.

Which is odd, because I'd pretty much resigned myself to not doing anything professionally with China.

Ugh, ugh, ugh.

The weekend was a long one, as I alluded to above. Which meant caffeine was consumed, so am coming down off of that, too. Gotta love mood-altering drugs, even legal ones. Not. I'm still catching up on sleep, but was a fun diversion.

Roots/Lube

When in doubt, return to your roots.

That's been the motto of my exercise program this week, where I've run, but not really do anything else. With the Y closed last week, and feeling like crud this week from my week's worth of renewed caffeine use, I didn't get any swimming time in at all. Did some biking, mostly to stores or off to see tricks, but not anything serious in the way of a workout. Was all about running, and not even running very well. I suppose I need these occasional reminders of how bad caffeine is for me, but it'd be nice to post a reminder somewhere so I could read it instead of reliving it.

What a concept.

Spent the morning figuring out how to get Windows XP to show things in Chinese correctly, and how to type stuff up in Word. I can type now in simplified characters, but not in traditional ones, and it won't let me convert between the systems without buying an $80 set of "Proofing Tools" from MS. So, once again, I come back to being forced to learn simplified characters, and fast. Not a bad thing, just an awkward thing.

And as I read this phrasebook I have, Making Out in Chinese, using it to refresh my memory of basic phrases and also to see familiar characters printed in the simplified style, I keep thinking I should work with someone to make a "food dictionary" or "food phrasebook" for Chinese. I know I'd have bought one when I lived in Taiwan, something with menu translations and descriptions of dishes, ingredients, and cooking methods. Something to think about, certainly...

I continue to delve into the world of fisting. Bought some new lube Thursday, Gun Oil, a silicon based, condom safe lube, but have yet to try it. Got a sample of a sister product by the same company, Stroke 29, and I have tried that, and will write up a product review at a later time. For now, suffice to say I liked it well enough to go buy some more this afternoon while out and about in Dupont. Did do a scene last night with an out-of-town visitor in his hotel. Was fun. We used Eros Gel, which he had also picked up the previous evening at the Leather Rack, and which worked pretty well. Didn't have the aesthetic of the white cream look that so many of the old-fashioned lubes like Elbow Grease and the like do, but that's okay. The sensation is more important to me than the aesthetic here (though that aesthetic is pretty hot once you get used to seeing it).
