Currently on the plate, aside from the usual magazines (Runner&#8217;s World, Instinct, Genre, Triathlete, etc.), are <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Diamond-Dogs-Turquoise-Alastair-Reynolds\/dp\/0441012787\/sr=8-8\/qid=1170045393\/ref=pd_bbs_8\/002-2668679-9399231?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books\">Diamond Dogs, Turquoise Days<\/a> by <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alastair_Reynolds\">Alastair Reynolds<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Blindness-Harvest-Book-Jose-Saramago\/dp\/0156007754\/sr=1-1\/qid=1170045464\/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1\/002-2668679-9399231?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books\">Blindness<\/a> by <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jos%C3%A9_Saramago\">Jose Saramago<\/a> and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Ironcrown-Moon-Boreal-Tale\/dp\/044101299X\/sr=1-2\/qid=1170045510\/ref=pd_bbs_2\/002-2668679-9399231?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books\">Ironcrown Moon<\/a> by <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Julian_May\">Julian May<\/a>. I&#8217;ve liked both Mr. Reynolds&#8217; and Ms. May&#8217;s works. His are pure hard science sci-fi, and hers are I suppose technically also hard science, but with a hint of fantasy, given the mythological overtones in her Saga of Pleiocene Exile. Mr. Saragamo&#8217;s Nobel-winning novel was recommended, and loaned, by a co-worker.<\/p>\n<p>Okay, just one comment (no spoilers) on <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Battlestar_Galactica\">Battlestar<\/a> tonight &#8211; is it me or is the long hair and beard thing on Baltar making him look more and more christ-like?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Been doing a bit of reading lately.
