02/01/30 a.m. 32:02 run in RCP (~5k). AHR: 170; MHR: 186; Recovery: 56. Good run, cool out, but not cold (mid 50s?). Meant shorts and a long sleeve T, no underlayers (hooray!). Very, very good weather. May start training for the Cherry Blossom 10 miler, will see today. If so, that'd be a good goal to work toward. Also learned today to slow down when crossing the road after almost getting run over by a mini-van. Oops.

02/01/29 p.m. 43:28 ride to work from home (~8.2m). AHR: 146; MHR: 177. Rode home from work. Ride went well, though was shocked at the number of folks out running, after dark, in black and dark grey. Um, can we say "duh"? Good thing I have the light for the bike.

02/01/29 a.m. 36:42 ride to work from home (~7.6m). AHR: 147; MHR: 173. Rode in to work, as it's in the 40s this morning and will get up to around 70 this afternoon. Should be nice to ride home, too. No problems, bike performed well, I performed well, not overly sore, etc.

02/01/25 a.m. 29:50 run in RCP (~4k). AHR: 167; MHR: 176; Recovery: 67. Another nice easy run. Felt good while running, felt good at the end. I think a good couple of weeks at this pace and then I can start to push up a bit again. Need this nice base rebuilt to get myself stabilized first.

02/01/23 a.m. 30:51 run in RCP (~4k). AHR: 167; MHR: 178; Recovery: 72. Nice relaxed run, just what I needed on Wednesday (forgot to 'blog it yesterday when I got home). Cool, but not cold. Shorts, undershirt, long sleeve shirt, hat (light drizzle on the way home). Very relaxed pace, very good to get out and run and not feel sore the next day.

02/01/17 a.m. 17:49 run in RCP (~2.5k). AHR: 169; MHR: 183; Recovery: 73. Didn't even blog the last run last week, it was so bad. I was in incredible pain, and I think it was from a) upping the mileage too quickly and b) not tightening my shoes sufficiently, allowing my feet to overpronate. Ugh! Today was much better. Slight pain in the right knee, on and off, but the usual left leg shin splints faded quickly and didn't reappear. Just did a short one to keep the mileage down and get back to get to work. Glad to be out on a run again.

02/01/06 a.m. 40:27 run in RCP. AHR: 171; MHR: 182; Recovery: 72. Another good long run. I was bundled up against the cold/rain (it was supposed to be snow, dammit!), so totally ignored the heart rate monitor today and just ran. ;-) Couldn't hear it, couldn't see it, but it was there measuring. Was good just to say, 'Here's a comfortable pace and I'm going to run it like this,' without the thing beeping at me (that I could tell). Is supposed to be snowing, and it actually was earlier when I came back from the bike store (and a much needed tune-up, plus purchase of gloves that were most nice to have on the run today, but which are meant mainly for the bicycle - so I can ride in the cold and not have my fingers fall off). The running continues apace - I should make the 10k goal in 6 weeks. Hooray!

02/01/02 a.m. 18:23 run in RCP (~2.5k). AHR: 164; MHR: 176; Recovery: 70. Cut the run short today 'cause of shin splints. Tomorrow is certainly a rest day, at least from running. Whee. :-p I am dealing with the cold better this season than I have previously. Could use a couple more items, but I can make do just fine with what I have, which is a good thing.

02/01/01 a.m. 32:58 run in RCP (~5k). AHR: 171; MHR: 178; Recovery: 55. Low recovery 'cause I was making food for post-run eating (I'm starving!) instead of sitting down, my usual thing. Starting a plan to gear up to a 10k, this first week will be a tad off (did a long run yesterday instead of resting), but it'll be on next week definitely. I need that structure to keep me focused on where I'm going with the running, so this should help keep me going with the running instead of slacking off per the usual. Run today was good, not too sore, though I could have gone a tad more slowly. I think I need to set a moderate 'slower' day pace on the monitor to make me slow down, just not as slow as the books recommend, which is uncomfortably slow.
